Cathryn was born in Chesterfield. As a teenager she played many sports and represented England at netball. Her love of sports and sciences led her to study at St.Thomas’ School of Physiotherapy graduating in 1981.
Her studies Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy enabled her to combine her understanding of sport with the demands this poses on the human body.
She first met Vivien as a patient but soon they became good friends , sharing a common interest in medicine, sport and the rehabilitation of the injured athlete.
Cathryn lives in Sheffield is married to a G.P. and has three children. Sport has always played a major role in her family life, having lost count of the number of touchlines, sidelines and dance studios that she has occupied.
Jane was born in Sheffield and started her career in Financial Services in 1984 with Legal & General, and, apart from a short period living in France renovating a property, has been involved in that field ever since. She has always enjoyed the outdoors and gardening for which she and Vivien shared a passion, together with an interest in general alternative therapies for wellbeing .
They met through Vivien’s father ‘popping into Legal and Generals office’ in the 80’s, and remained friends ever since.
One of Vivien’s last wishes was to visit Rome, and The Vatican – which they did together a couple of months before Vivien passed away.
